‘Pine’ is the latest track from Unusual Demont. Following on from his impressive recent debut (the semi-viral ‘Amber’), the 21-year-old artist has refined his own brand of retro and modern R&B. His voice provides washy lead lies, but it is the funky bass that really push this track forward. The drums are soft and subtle, allowing the bass to wander the stereo field with smoothness and melody. On the track’s lyrics, Unusual Demont says: “I wanted to show a dichotomy between the lyrics and energy of the song again. Although the song itself is really bouncy and upbeat, it’s actually about the moral dilemma of a homewrecker coming into a dying relationship.” There is more on the horizon from this exciting artist. -Dan Peeke
